Man attacked woman within 13 hours of release

From RTE News: Man attacked woman within 13 hours of release

A 32-year-old convicted rapist who attacked a woman within 13 hours of being freed from prison is to be sentenced next month.

Trevor Byrne of O'Devanny Gardens off the North Circular Road attacked and tried to rob a 24-year-old French woman after following her and forcing his way into her home in Phibsboro in September 2009.

What do you say? It is tragic and if it was not for the horrific impact of the his actions of his victims the stupidity of his compulsion would be almost funny.

From a selfish point of view I feel I that I need stories like this the same way I need a kick in the head. I suspect most convicted sex offenders living in the community feel the same.

Did he sexually assault her or was he desperate for money after leaving prison and having nowhere to go?

Just a question...

@Anonymous

Well first off his address is given within walking distance of where the attack took place - I know the geography of this area.

Second the probation service I expect would have arranged accommodation for him probably in a hostel if he had nowhere to go.

Third - none of this matters anyway - he simply should not have done it. What he did was both very very stupid and very very wrong. No excuses.
